春秋時代の戦船（模型） [中国航海博物館]

画像は中国の春秋時代の呉国の「大翼戦船」(前770－前476年)である。 Da Yi Fighting boat: The Spring and Autumn Period (BC770-BC476)。 [参考]春秋時代 (～BC400年頃) 後、戦国時代 (その後期において秦が統一国家を樹立する) を経て、前漢・後漢、魏、晋、さらに 南北朝へと1000年ほどの歴史が続く。展示パネルにはその頃の中国・航海について次のように記している。 Navigation in the Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties／秦、漢、魏、晋、南北朝における航海 During these periods, shipbuilding and navigational technologies improved remarkably, with sculls and rudders being developed and people beginning to understand the patterns of the monsoons at sea and to master the skills of sailing by taking advantage of the winds.
