    1. ジオラマの一コマ。原始人と丸木舟・櫂・漁網などの展示。 [拡大画像(x19745.jpg)]
    2. Print of pearl-divers and boat recorded in Tiangong Kaiwu by Song Yingxing. Abundant pearls were found from the waters off Tai Po and off parts of Lantau Island during the Southern Han period(917-971) of the Five dynasties - but at a heavy price in human life.
    Stones were fastened to the divers' legs and they had to submerge to great depths to gather the pearl-bearing oysters. Because so many divers drowned or died from other causes from such a perilous venture, pearl-diving was prohibited in 972 but occasionally the ban was lifted in later ages.
